Web design across Kenya — wherever your business is based

Most Kenyan web design agencies serve Nairobi clients almost exclusively, by accident or by choice. Businesses in Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, and the smaller towns end up either flying agencies in (expensive) or settling for local freelancers (often inconsistent). Neither option scales.

Modern web design is overwhelmingly remote-friendly. Discovery interviews work over Zoom. Design reviews work in Figma. Development is asynchronous. Weekly check-ins on calendar. Most of our active engagements run with the client and the team in different cities — and produce the same outcomes as projects where everyone's in Westlands. Below is how we structure web design delivery for clients across Kenya.

Nairobi — the home market

Our office is in Lotus Plaza, Chiromo Lane, Westlands. About 60% of our clients are Nairobi-based. We schedule on-site meetings, photography days, and training sessions in person where useful. Discovery, design, and development still happen remotely most of the time — even with Nairobi clients — because that's how the work gets done efficiently.

Mombasa and the coast

Coastal Kenya businesses (hotels, dive operators, real estate, restaurants, retail) get the same workflow as Nairobi clients, with travel for photography days and large kickoff sessions. We have working relationships with Mombasa-based photographers and event coordinators — often the most efficient path is for our design team to brief their on-the-ground team rather than fly everyone to Mombasa.

Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika, Nyeri, Meru

The mid-tier cities — almost entirely remote engagements with occasional on-site visits. Most up-country businesses we work with are in agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, and education. Standard delivery model with all the same deliverables.

Smaller towns, the diaspora, and rural-headquartered businesses

If you have a stable internet connection (Safaricom Home Fibre, Faiba, or even good 4G), the engagement runs identically. Some of our most disciplined clients are based in smaller towns where the focus is unbroken — fewer Nairobi-meeting interruptions, more focused execution.

Cross-border (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa)

Substantial East and West African engagements — especially for fintech, healthtech, and pan-African brands. We handle country-specific payment gateway integration (M-Pesa for Kenya, MTN MoMo for Uganda, Tigo Pesa for Tanzania, Flutterwave or Paystack for Nigeria, MFS Africa cross-border for multi-country flows). Hreflang and country-targeted SEO where applicable.

How we structure non-Nairobi engagements

Communication infrastructure

WhatsApp Business for ad-hoc questions. Zoom or Google Meet for scheduled meetings. Loom for async video walkthroughs of design and development progress. Figma comments for design feedback. ClickUp for project management. Email for formal documentation. Most clients find async-default + scheduled-sync combination produces faster execution than constant in-person meetings.

On-site visits, scheduled deliberately

For projects that warrant it — large discovery sessions, brand strategy workshops, photography days, training — we travel. Scheduled in advance, focused agendas, billed at travel cost (not marked up). Typically 1–3 visits over a 3-month engagement.

Time-zone friendly delivery

Working across UG, TZ, RW, ET, GH, NG, ZA. East African Time (EAT) is our home zone, but we're comfortable with an hour or two either side. Larger time-zone gaps (US clients) get scheduled-overlap windows.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only serve Nairobi?

No. We work with clients across Kenya — Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika, Nyeri, Machakos, Meru, Kakamega, Kisii, and beyond. Our team is based in Nairobi (Westlands) but engagements are run remotely with periodic on-site visits as needed. About 35% of our active clients are outside Nairobi.

How does delivery work for clients outside Nairobi?

Same as Nairobi clients, plus or minus on-site visits. Discovery interviews via Zoom or WhatsApp video. Design reviews via Figma comments and async video walkthroughs (Loom). Weekly working calls. On-site visits when stakes warrant it (large project kickoffs, photography days, training sessions) — billed at cost.

Can you handle a Mombasa-coast project with photography?

Yes. We partner with photographers in Mombasa, Diani, and Watamu for on-location product, lifestyle, and venue photography. Coordinated end-to-end as part of the project, billed separately for the photography component.

Do you serve clients outside Kenya?

Yes — we have ongoing engagements with clients in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. East African and West African projects often need country-specific considerations (payment gateways, tax/VAT, language localisation) that we handle as standard.

Will I get the same service quality as a Nairobi client?

Yes — same team, same process, same deliverables. Most of the work happens at desks in Nairobi anyway; the location of the client doesn't affect quality. The only practical differences are slightly slower in-person logistics if your project demands many on-site touchpoints.
